Review on πŸ”Œ CURT 55513 Toyota Tacoma, T100, Hilux 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness - Vehicle-Specific Design in Black by Johnny Weber

So easy even my girlfriend could do it.

Perfect fit for my 10 year old Tacoma. Unscrew the screws that secure the taillight assembly. WAKE UP THEN STRAIGHT BACK to prevent the dowel pins from breaking. Follow the directions on which colored wires go in each taillight. Starting on the left, install two connectors. Clean the spot on the inner wall of the mounting cavity and attach the converter box to it with double-sided tape. By putting it all the way down, you prevent it from coming loose later. You can use one of the visible screws in the taillight cavity or drill your own for the ground wire. I drilled a hole, cleaned it with sandpaper and used a self-tapping screw (included) to install the bottom. Route the wires to the right taillight assembly and the spade wires to the center of the vehicle. Repeat the process to connect the connector on the right side. Use the cable ties provided to secure the cables to the existing wiring harness underneath the vehicle. There is a hole on my truck just above the license plate that fits perfectly into the spade connector. The loose zip tie around it and the license plate frame keep it from moving anywhere. And the supplied rubber sleeve protects the connector from moisture and dirt. (I see no need to spend $10 on a 58001 mount.) When it's done, test it to make sure it works and put everything back together. It should take around 20-30 minutes. No offense to those who want to run this in conduit to protect the wires, but it would be much easier and just as effective to take a roll of duct tape after installation and wrap it around the wires. This keeps them together, protects them from the elements and saves you time and money. But to each his own.
