Easy install, works great

I had to rent a trailer to haul some items over 600 miles. The rental center charged almost $150 to install the wiring (I already have a hitch). For just over $30, I had it installed and running in under 45 minutes. I'm almost 70 and can't move very well so a healthier person could do it in less time. I had already pulled the trailer and the light worked great.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Nothing here

Easy to install good for wiring

very easy to install, plug and play factory wiring harness. The length of the cables was fine and the instructions are easy to follow. But it must have been a manufacturing defect, as it caused the warning light on the driver's side to light up like a brake light, but everything else worked. With or without a trailer the problem was the same, rear removed, factory headlights connected and everything worked as it should. Sent back for a replacement, we'll see how it fares.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • many things

The control module is located on the left rear. I removed the standard screw and had to sand the surface to ground the device. If it doesn't, I can connect to ground on the taillight as a backup. The 4-pin cable is very long, almost not even needed. The wiring to the right tail was spot on, but I would have preferred another 8 inches to make it clearer. I don't tow often, maybe 1-2 times a year, so I'm hoping this module lasts a while, otherwise I just cut it out and added fuses.

  • Easy-to-read control panel

Easy Installation Best in Hitch Accessories

I have installed wire harnesses before and isolating wires is not difficult, it just takes time. In the process, I literally unscrewed the 2 screws holding my taillights, routed the connectors to the taillight wiring harness, and connected the wiring harness. Same goes for the passenger side, just make sure the plugs are removed from where you're installing the hitch if you haven't already. Check the taillights to make sure the plugs are installed properly, then reseat them. Fasten the wires…

Easy installation but ground wire could be longer.

Perfect for my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. No cutting or splicing required. Be sure to apply some dielectric grease to the connectors. I wanted to attach the ground wire to the bottom of the frame, but the ground wire in the wire harness was too short. (If you have an extra cable you can cut the tip off and connect to a longer piece if you like). Just make sure you clean up the area and sand/sand the area to make sure you get a good base. You can drill a small pilot hole first and then use the included

Everyone needs a good grounding

As previously mentioned, for added protection and ease of installation, purchase separate conduit (3/8" or 1/2") for the cables. Be sure to tape the wires at the ends of the line to hold everything together. Now ground the device. In years past (15-20 years) these devices were grounded by the wiring harness. But the only source of grounding for this device is a threaded tap in the vehicle chassis. Normally I would say that this is normal and I even connected this device in this way. First. Then

Smooth. Just perfect.

I installed this on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. It wouldn't be easier if someone didn't do it for me. First off, this is a very well made pendant. It is carried out professionally in every respect. The connectors are identical to the OEM connectors, the cables themselves are strong and everything fits. For those of you wondering how to install this. You will remove two screws for each taillight assembly. The assembly is then displayed. You disconnect the vehicle's main wiring harness from its…

So easy even my girlfriend could do it.

Perfect fit for my 10 year old Tacoma. Unscrew the screws that secure the taillight assembly. WAKE UP THEN STRAIGHT BACK to prevent the dowel pins from breaking. Follow the directions on which colored wires go in each taillight. Starting on the left, install two connectors. Clean the spot on the inner wall of the mounting cavity and attach the converter box to it with double-sided tape. By putting it all the way down, you prevent it from coming loose later. You can use one of the visible screws
