I have installed wire harnesses before and isolating wires is not difficult, it just takes time. In the process, I literally unscrewed the 2 screws holding my taillights, routed the connectors to the taillight wiring harness, and connected the wiring harness. Same goes for the passenger side, just make sure the plugs are removed from where you're installing the hitch if you haven't already. Check the taillights to make sure the plugs are installed properly, then reseat them. Fasten the wires under the truck, install the black box and screw on the ground wire. The total installation time is less than 15 minutes and I didn't have to connect any wires!
