They do not show all the lights at the same time on each strip as shown in the picture. You only get one color. If you choose green, then all stripes are green immediately. When you select Rainbow Pulse, all bars will flash the same color. BUT I love my lights. I've read in app reviews where people have said that the light only syncs to music you've purchased through the Apple Store/iTunes. Not true. There is a microphone button, when you press it the light will sync with what you hear. I've used it to play my Pandora app as well as Amazon music and Sirius XM radio. My main issue with this product was the adhesive. Make sure you have the lights exactly where you want them. Once you take it out, it won't stick anymore. I had to use a crane to glue them back together. The only problem is that it gets so hot in GA that the tape doesn't hold up.
