Like others, I've tried other brake kits and wasn't happy with the braking performance. Riding a fully loaded touring bike through terrain that was sometimes very hilly caused a few hectic moments. I decided the brakes weren't worth the price and bought the Shorty Ultimates. I finally have cantilever brakes that actually have some serious stopping power. We recommend.
