Review on K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Unleash the Power, Boost Horsepower: Fits 2019-2020 CHEVROLET Silverado 1500; 2019-2020 GMC Sierra 1500, Model 63-3110 by Shigg Bigbee

I installed it on my 2019 Silverado Z71 LTZ 5.3L about two months ago. I have owned my truck since October 2019 and have a very good feeling about its performance. In the past two months I haven't seen any improvement in either performance or MPG. There was no noticeable improvement in either acceleration or exhaust noise. I have short commutes to work each day, resulting in an average of 12.4mpg. For the past two months my MPH has been 13.4. A gain of 1 MPG is hardly worth the money. K&N only released dyno results for the 6.2L, which makes me wonder if the gains for the 5.3L were too small to advertise. I should have taken that as a warning. To date I have installed K&N air intakes on a Camaro and 3 Silverados. In the past, it typically took less than an hour to swap out a factory airbox and install a new air intake. This took me almost 2 hours. There are some steps that require moving or removing multiple cables that weren't intuitive and weren't detailed in the instructions. Specifically the wiring harness which required a 90° tool to get down and loosen it. It took me a few minutes to figure out exactly how to use the lever release tool. The instructions didn't help with this step. Finding the right angle to pull out the factory airbox and install the new airbox probably took longer than any other step. The good news is that I have no problems with my preset ringtones. My Silverado has a dial to toggle between Touring, Sport, Off-Road and Towing. I didn't notice any problems with either after installing the new recording. However, I would also like to mention that I already installed a Borla sport exhaust system, so the exhaust was slightly open for extra airflow. Maybe this helped to avoid problems with ringtones. In the past I have always noticed an increase in performance after installing a K&N air intake. This was my first disappointment with K&N products, especially at $435 for one. Considering the price of this air intake I don't think it was worth the cost given the minimal benefit. I am very
