Review on Black Rugged Ridge 18003.12 Skid Plate for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Steering Box by Jeremy Carpenter

After checking all other brands of skids and realizing that they are basically the same design, I quickly settled on this skid for my 2006 LJ. As soon as it arrived I wondered how they could produce it, pack it in a branded box, ship it from China, sort it, repack it for final sale and send it to me. cheap for it. I couldn't gather the materials to build this myself at such a reasonable price. In each case, the skids perfectly matched the existing lower bumper mounting hole and foremost steering gear bolt. Drilled an M10 bolt hole in the cross section of the tube frame, which was a bit odd because my SAE drill bit sets didn't have a drill bit that was really good for the job. When inserting a long nut on a bar into the side of the frame tube, I seem to have misthreaded, twisted and snapped the mounting bar. BEFORE YOU REPEAT THIS, MAKE SURE IT IS SLAUGHTERED CORRECTLY! I was able to remove and weld on my own piece of sheet metal in place of the brittle rod using two 14mm wrenches taped together. It was my mistake, so don't lose stars for my wrong installation, just be careful not to repeat the same mistake. Once all of this is installed it perfectly matches the lines of my secondary Genright Stubby front bumper and offers solid protection when reinforced further. Steering gear mount as well.
