Review on 🌐 Gigabit Dual Band WiFi Router by Netgear (Model WNDR4500-100NAS) by Chad Aguirre

Revainrating 3 out of 5

a DOA, a month old troubleshooting festival, and still not doing what I bought it for

EDIT #3: 2018 is upon us and I'm still worried about the extra money and the time and effort I wasted hoping I could have a generic USB setup on my network. None of the three devices I bought worked consistently, despite enough hours of troubleshooting with Netgear to I think I once earned for free. WiFi is included. Unstable at best, randomly disconnects and even when plugged in, it's too slow for normal use. I have a Mac with 16GB of RAM and the WiFi is exactly 12ft directly above my head so the distance is not an issue. Great idea, poorly executed. I could get a regular old wireless box for half that price and a little hassle. ### EDIT: After almost a month of technical support (some terrible, some excellent) they finally advised me to return the router. The new one worked for almost a month with the only small bug. It looks like Netgear has serious quality control issues. If it works, it's great. If not, it's a nightmare. ### First Review: I've spent time troubleshooting this router every single day for the past week, either using my own networking knowledge or using 4 or 5 different Netgear technologies. They are no longer responding to my support request. I made the mistake of throwing the box away after the router worked for the first 4 days so I must have lost $100 on that rock. I'm going to be running my 10 year old Linksys again until I can replace this piece of Netgear junk with a modern Linksys box.
