Better than most neoprene braces but still inferior to rigid articulated braces.

I finally found a better brace. This is definitely better than most neoprene orthotics, but still significantly inferior to rigid-frame articulating orthotics. It's definitely better than I expected. MUCH BETTER. And it's nowhere near as hot as a neoprene bandage. This makes a big difference when you live in a hot climate. This is a very high quality brace that is almost perfect for my knee. That's good too, because some people will find the installation a problem. It's just not as stretchy as a neoprene bandage, so getting the right size is more important. When inflated it creates a strong and secure hold on almost every structure within the knee, making the very loose knee feel tight and, frankly, YOUNG again. This eliminates most knee pain while reducing the likelihood of further damage to the knee. Also, it does a great job of keeping the patella in the right position and alignment as the patella hole is the right size so it can hold the patella in the right place. I've found that most neoprene clamps don't work as they tend to make this hole too small. When inflated, the patella locks securely in place, preventing it from shifting to either side. As good as the association is, there is still one glaring problem. The upper part of the bandage tries to go down the leg. it cannot slip past the patella as a ring of compressed air surrounds the patella to hold it in place. Thus the top of the strut slides until it reaches that point. The bandage really needs a silicone surface around the inside of the upper to keep the upper firmly against the skin and prevent slipping. Because I have osteoarthritis in both knees, I usually wear braces all day. Since I only bought one of these, I'm planning to buy a second one for the other knee. I will wear them in the evening after I take off the braces. I wish there was a version of this brace that was built into a rigid forearm brace because while the offloading braces hold all of the ligaments in their correct position as the affected compartment is unloaded, they do very little to keep the patella in the correct position . . this is the ideal position. And they're just too bulky to fit under the unloader's struts. Otherwise they would be the perfect solution.

Pros
  • Comfortable and Soft Frame - Strategically placed air frame around the knee allows for comfortable and secure movement. A non-rigid knee brace is useful not only for outdoor activities such as sports, but also for indoor activities such as cleaning and gardening
Cons
  • There are nuances
