So I had to rebuild a wheel on my 02 Silverado due to rust. Rust has eaten through both the inner wheel arch seam and the outer body panel where they are joined and welded. This is a common problem. If enough of the seam can be salvaged and treated with a rust converter, you can use these patches/meshes to patch the seam and repair the entire damaged area. I used the old structure as a scaffold to hold the patch/mesh after using a straight edge like a corner ruler to replicate the seam. It worked great. I then used the vertical flange of the new mesh to glue it to the inner vertical wall of the wheel well until I could use fiberglass to hold it in place and began the fiberglass and filler reconstruction process: fiberglass for the main filler. Structural restoration and putty to sand surface 1/4 inch thick or less for painting. I made a video on YouTube how to do this. The job turned out great and saved me from having to buy GM-supplied body panels and wheel wells for just $1,200. at $400 each. The only complaint I have is that the patches aren't sticky enough to stick to anything. So adding this feature was a waste of time. The sticky side should stick to everything to add value.
