I repeat the positive comments from other reviews: - Very easy assembly - Nice to look at. really exact size as advertised. However, I, and apparently the manufacturer, did not pay attention to the distance between the shelves. Given that the bottom shelf's surface is 4 inches off the floor, my calculations of what books would actually fit a fixed distance between the shelves were a bit off. Standard-size hardcover books, 9.5 inches high, barely fit on the bottom shelf. - It's a tight fit. The top shelf fits with some clearance, but not enough for something even 0.25 inches taller. And you'll have a hard time finding the bulk of a hardcover collection that fits on a medium shelf. King books on the block, Dark Tower and related books on the first shelf, smaller volumes like On Writing or Eye of the Dragon on the middle shelf, and the rest on the bottom shelf. My score is basically a three because this just won't work as a general purpose bookshelf for those who might want to keep the alphabetical order of hardcover books. However, if you decide to make this purchase, knowing that its use works in these conditions, it is a very good purchase.
