Review on Splitter ZACCAS Aluminum Duplicate Monitors by Steve Hauck

Works great with my 5.1 surround sound for Windows 10

I had a problem getting my Windows 10 PC to output 5.1 surround sound. My configuration was PC-HDMI-TV-HDMI-Surround Sound. I had it so I could turn off the surround sound and use the TV speakers while my wife slept. The problem is that even though my TV has a pass-through for 5.1 surround sound output, Windows 10 only detects the TV's speakers, so it only outputs that sound. This has been a Windows issue for 2 years from what I've researched. Now my setup is PC-Splitter-HDMI_1 for TV and HDMI_2 for surround sound. sound works great. When you turn off the surround sound, the TV takes control. while surround sound is turned off, no sound will come out of the TV speakers. This works better than I thought. I figured I would have to turn off the TV sound completely while having the surround sound on. It's not automatic for you, then just turn down the volume on your TV to the minimum.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
