Priceless for Paperless

The DS-510 is a duplex multi-document scanner that comes with capture software and USB cable connection. Epson WorkForce DS-510 Color Document Scanner The DS-510 scans multiple documents in seconds, front and back. I am manager of two branches of the dental practice. One of our many goals is to go paperless in both offices. As you can imagine, converting hundreds of medical records into digital form can be quite intimidating. I bought four of these scanners, two for each office, and it has made our lives easier. Each chart contains documents of various shapes and sizes; The DS-510 handles the entire stack with ease. Watch out for paperclips as described in the documentation and symbols on the scanner. And that's really the only requirement for comfortable scanning. When fully extended, this scanner occupies about the same desk space as a regular scanner platform (about 1.5 feet by 1 foot), but it shrinks (about 5 feet by 1 foot) for easy storage. The scanner comes with its own software. I would describe it as moderate - not the most user-friendly, but good, and with time you can figure it out. This is TWAIN. compatible, so documents and images can be imported directly into your software if it is also TWAIN compliant. Going paperless I can't judge the practicality in everyday use, but I also couldn't imagine how long it would take for us to go paperless - so it was worth the price.
