Review on ๐Ÿธ ATC Alcohol Refractometer for Accurate Spirit Alcohol Volume Percent Measurement, Wide Range 0-80% v/v with Temperature Compensation by Travis Caminiti

useless for high level readings

cheap refractometers are terrible for strong alcohol. Nothing above 75% indicates a different reading. A variable area flow meter is much better in the high division range. If you want a really accurate reading, you need to measure the density with a scale of varying accuracy and a reference volume, find the ABV on the chart, and be sure to temperature correct the density. I found the Bureau of Standards charts published in 1910 and converted them to the desktop calculator I was using. Never use a refractometer again, it's a waste of time. even at low ranges it is inaccurate. very expensive french or german models could be better?
