Oh I love this. Pros: Very good for dehydrating tomatoes, sun drying made it so much easier for me I slice them thinly, add a few drops of olive oil and season with basil, they are amazing . Works great with apples! I've also used it to dry corn to grind to make my own cornmeal. It takes about as long as it says in the booklet. Eat them the same day and leave them a little softer and not as crunchy. But I usually dry Granny Smiths for my daughter, it's a great way to get her to eat fruit! I have used it 3 times. Cons: It's noisy and I'm not the kind of person who trusts devices to stay on all night, so I have to use them during the day, after about 5 hours I want to stop and turn everything off! Because I have pets I can't just put it in any other room I like so I leave it in my kitchen which is next to the common room where I spend most of my time. I asked and read the ews review and said it was quiet. But that's not the case. Only if you have hearing problems can it be called quiet, I forgot it was on and thought my neighbor was mowing the lawn or wrecking the car. It's noisy. Maybe no louder than other food dryers, but this is the first I've had so I don't know. Drives me crazy :P Also, it works for me.
