🍎 Enhanced Dehydro Digital Electric Food Dehydrator by Presto 06301 Review

it broke the 2nd time I used it. I called the company and they asked me to send it in for verification. Sent back and broke on first use after "repair". I would not buy this product again. Now I have a giant paperweight.

Used throughout summer to make sun dried tomatoes. I have found that pieces near the outer edge dry faster and pieces near the center are more likely to burn even at 125 degrees. My guess is that the heat is highest in the center but air movement is stronger at the outer edge. This meant monitoring the process every 2 or 3 hours to remove those that had reached the correct level of dryness and moving the remaining pieces around so the ones near the center ring didn't burn.

I have owned this dehydrator for less than 2 years. I have used it monthly to make jerky for my dog which takes 4 to 5 hours each time. The light on it is already flashing and the plug is getting too hot to continue using. I had my son (an electrician) take it apart to fix the wiring and we found that the coating on the wires was deteriorating (cracked and split). This machine is beyond repair and can now only be used for scrap. I will not buy anything from Presto again as they clearly use…

A bit noisy but stutters well on first use. Update: Well I discovered a nasty secret after making jerky a few times. I've used very lean meat with very few drips, and even then the machine sucks in all the drips. There is no rim preventing the juice from going straight into the machine and because of the way the pressure works it acts like a vacuum and sucks in the juice. Oh I love this. Pros: Very good for dehydrating tomatoes, sun drying made it so much easier for me I slice them thinly, add a few drops of olive oil and season with basil, they are amazing .
