Review on Extreme Max 3006.6548 BoatTector Grapnel Anchor Kit - Ideal for Small Boats, Kayaks, PWC, Jet Skis, Paddle Boards, and More - 3.5 lbs by Chris Castro

So far I am very happy with this anchor. The ad doesn't show it very well, but there is a collar that rotates to lock the paws up (storage) or down (normal use). The rope is not easy to separate from the anchor, but it is possible if you know how to make similar loops on braided rope. It's not really necessary to separate the rope, but I did so so I could attach the rope to the bottom and then use zip ties to connect the rope to the top. I got this idea from another review and it's really just brilliant. That way, if the anchor gets stuck, I can pull it a few times to release the tie and the rope will pull the anchor in the opposite direction. I use this on slow speed rafting trips to anchor 4 tubes in the shade during my lunch break and it holds us up very well. I would conveniently use it to temporarily hold a small group of canoes or kayaks with no worries. All this at a very fair price.
