I have had this kettle for a few weeks now. I came across this the other day while wiping down a counter and saw its pink residue on my paper towel. Had no idea what that was from. Finally found out that this teapot is MADE IN CHINA and the paint just runs on it. I can wet a paper towel and wipe the paint off every time. This color goes to the edge of the filling hole. I wonder how much of this uncured dye has made its way into my drinking water and what fumes come out of the oven as this dye cooks on a living fire. INADMISSIBLE. The whistle works if you want it, but that's the least of my worries. And it wasn't cheap either.
