Review on 15.6-Inch QQH Portable External Computer Kickstand with High Dynamic Range and 60Hz Refresh Rate - Model Z1-9 by Jamaal Panigoro

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Definitely not bad, but everything about it can and should get better.

It's well packaged, it comes with useful cables, it's plug and play, it's useful, but I just can't give it high marks because it lets it down in so many areas. The monitor worked with both a Windows PC via HDMI (requires separate power supply via USB-C) and Macbook M1 via USB-C (requires only one cable for power and image) and mini-HDMI (requires separate power supply via USB -C). . The monitor automatically recognized and expanded the desktops, also outputs the image via HDMI from my Nikon DSLR for quick image viewing - Excellent. The design of the box and the equipment are good, but the case itself is plastic, bends and creaks. There are better cases in this price range. The bezel feels larger than many similar monitors, and the QQH logo is large and dominates the front of the screen and doesn't look good in portrait mode. in the stand. However, I don't think it's implemented well. The stand only allows 1 viewing angle in either portrait or landscape mode. For me it is too cool in landscape format and too small in portrait format. The stand only balances on a small curved area, it doesn't feel stable on any surface other than a hard, flat table. Stand issues could easily be overlooked if another simple mounting solution such as a threaded hole was included. but there's nothing else, so get stuck with this limited solution. Image quality The image quality initially appears good with good contrast and gray area. In the menu, I found limited white balance options (warm, cool, and custom, but the user didn't specify any Kelvin numbers). I also checked the specs, manual and online but found nothing on color accuracy. So I used the monitor calibration tool to measure color accuracy. The result is only 66% sRGB and 54% subscription RGB. These are not good numbers for work or photos with accurate color reproduction. They don't matter much for gaming or general web browsing, but please provide specifications so that we as users can decide if the color accuracy is good enough for our intended use. These numbers should not simply be left out. Again, higher color accuracy is available on similar monitors, which may or may not matter to you. I tried to show how red tones (after calibration) appear with an image of the same color. Wheel on the QQH monitor (below) and the desktop monitor (above). As you can see the reds at QQH look orange and desaturated. Lighter colors, yellow, blue and green look better. Overall it's not bad, it's actually a good monitor, but every aspect could be better, finish, stand, mounting options, color accuracy for the price, so I can't recommend the PRO'sBox Presentation and contentPlug and PlayPower and signal over 1 USB -C cable option for mini HDMI (but requires separate power supply) Full HD picture and looks good Contrast is good CONS Thin plastic body, large bezel and dominant logo Stand has no adjustment and is only suitable for flat surfaces No alternative mounting points . Poor color accuracy, especially reds. Better options available.
