Review on 📶 Cisco-Linksys WUSB54GS Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Speedbooster by Matt Jenkins

I have had a 1.0 device connecting an XP box to a Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster for several years and it worked reasonably well (4 stars). I recently replaced my old Dell XP computer with a new HP Vista computer, attempted to install my trusty old WUSB54GS V1.0 on it, and . it is not compatible with Vista: There are no drivers for Vista on the Linksys support site. Then I checked "Vista Compatible" in the Revain product description for WUSB54GS V2.0 hardware and ordered a new device. but Revain sent me a box with the warning "Only compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows XP" highlighted in yellow on the front. I suspect when I open the box I see V2.0 on the back of the unit, but unless Linksys has updated the packaging and installed the software for Vista, the WUSB54GS is obviously nearing the end of its life and I should return it. The Linksys support site has a list of Vista compatible devices, but the WUSB54GS is not listed. *do* has a driver download for Vista (WUSB54GS V2.0 hardware only). Linksys Support has confirmed their website is incorrect, you *can* download the Vista Hardware Driver V2.0. But if they don't bother updating their website to show WUSB54GS support for Vista, it's obvious they're dropping support for it. Product.
