Review on VINCI Bang Dice Game by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Need an easier, shorter game to add to your collection? Count Bang! Dice game.

I originally bought this game as a birthday present for a friend. He loves westerns so I searched the internet for well rated western games. Clap! appeared in my search results, but almost every review said that the dice version would be easier and faster, but no less fun. Although I never played the original card game, this game turned out to be what was promised. In view of the low price I finally bought a copy. Just don't expect it to serve as a night game and you'll be done. Considering the short gameplay (the longest game I've played was *maybe* 30 minutes) and the simple mechanics (roll dice > save dice or roll again > apply results to selected target player), this is an ideal game for the middle level. a small group of people (4-8) of different ages, abilities, concentration of attention and game interests. I've played it with regular players and non-players alike, and after one round of play, literally anyone was able to get into it and figure it out. I've also played it with every possible player and while it works well with 3 (the rules actually change to accommodate this), the game really starts to shine at 5+ when you factor in the hidden reel mechanics. As you'd expect, more players increase the length of the game, but it's usually short enough that you can play it multiple times in one session. In my opinion this is actually a really cool feature as it can't be said for any of the other games I play. I usually prefer long games that last several hours with a bit more difficulty, but I like Bang! precisely because it *isn't* so, but very pleasant nonetheless; He just fits into a different role. The only person I met out of 20+ who didn't like it was another regular player who felt it was too "easy". While this is a fair opinion, the game never claims to be a serious game for "real" players. I see it more as a type of game that can bring non-players to the table or satisfy players who don't have the time and/or space (the box is less than half the size of a shoebox - it packs nicely transport! ). If after reading this you're still not sure if this game is worth buying, watch a short video review on YouTube to make your final decision. If it still seems a bit interesting to you, just buy it. There really isn't much to lose.
