Yes, we've done so much with it! We made a bathroom lamp, bookshelves, bathroom shelves, a shoe rack and are working on a curtain rod. All our metal had to be rubbed or washed because it has some kind of coating on it. Some instructions warned us against this and advised us to wash. We've learned that this is normal and the same even if you buy them from Home Depot. We love the look and want to build more! A word of advice: sometimes these little bases can warp and this can affect how straight you mount the shelf to the wall. So keep a close eye on each of them, and if you run into a wall, drive a straight line.
