Dog door ok well suitable for doors

This was recommended to me by the previous owner. However, I was not impressed with the cost of this door. It took all weekend to install through the exterior brick. The plastic door works well, but it would be better if the dogs couldn't see and bark at anything that moves. It's also not as airtight as I was hoping. The key to locking the doors is pain. A small slide lock would be much better as we lock it every night. The metal protection for the entire closure is also annoying. It had to be made to slide down rather than messing around with screws. $500 requires Improved Engineering.
