Plexidor is awesome. Expensive but lasts a long time

Plexidor is amazing. Expensive but long enough. Had one at our old house for over five years with two dogs using it. Still fully functional when we moved in.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Poor quality doors

In most cases the door does not close properly. The doors don't touch like they should and I have to adjust them myself which is annoying. It also worries me that when I'm not home, something in the form of a spider or a scorpion will slip away from me.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Only available in white

Dog door ok well suitable for doors

This was recommended to me by the previous owner. However, I was not impressed with the cost of this door. It took all weekend to install through the exterior brick. The plastic door works well, but it would be better if the dogs couldn't see and bark at anything that moves. It's also not as airtight as I was hoping. The key to locking the doors is pain. A small slide lock would be much better as we lock it every night. The metal protection for the entire closure is also annoying. It had to beโ€ฆ

  • Out of fashion

Significantly quieter than solenoid valves!

Pros: Makes so little noise compared to doors with magnetic wings. The dog learned how to handle it very quickly. Looks nice. Well done. Stable frame and doors. Cons: High price! Installation took most of the day (by a husband who is knowledgeable about such projects). Our plexidor was built into the wall leading to our garage from the inside of the house. The medium sized door is perfect for our 18" Aussie Cattle Dog (shoulder height, not head height) 32#. but I would definitely recommend aโ€ฆ

Best in Dogs disappointed

I have tried many dog doors over the years. This one intrigued me with the idea of no collars/batteries/electricity etc being required and how they bragged about the quality and how long they would last. I bought and installed a medium size. My thoughts now that I have a hole in the wall of my house for this product: The price is well above what you get. The instructions are poor - they actually copied some handwritten "late" additions to the printed instructions, but still very poorโ€ฆ

Yes, maybe you can do it yourself

Satisfied. If you've read the instructions, watched the videos a few times, are good with wood and metal, have the tools, and have a great sense of adventure, you too can DIY install like I did. Imagine a project in three separate steps: an interior wall, an exterior wall, and a tunnel. I gave three weeks of work. Just be prepared for surprises within your own walls that are not described in the literature. In my case, a 4-inch layer of metal underneath a layer of ceramic tile (which sat on top
