Not as effective as I expected. It took many uses before the fan nut came loose. Can be improved by inserting a spacer to prevent the fan pulley from rotating. I used a very heavy (40lb) steel plate to hold it over one of the pulley mounting bolts. This extra mass eventually allowed the wrench and hammer to unscrew the nut.
