The igniter works fine but it turned out that the problem was not with the gas valve. Our oven took over 20 minutes to come up to temperature and the description of how the circuit worked made it difficult to tell if the problem was the igniter or the gas valve. The igniter is a lot cheaper than the valve so I replaced it first but that didn't fix the problem. The gas valve assembly has been replaced, now it heats up as fast as when new. Seems to be an odd design. After buying it, I found the best description of how to determine what is bad - an igniter or a valve. Check online repair sites for troubleshooting information.
