Review on 🚿 DANCO Shower Volume Control Shut-Off Valve - Chrome 1.6 inch, Pack of 1 (89171): Enhance Your Shower Experience by John Wood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Danco 89171 shut-off valve.

This valve is made from durable materials. It came in a plain white box, not retail packaging. What people call a set screw is actually a roll pin in what I bought. Its only purpose is to hold the stick in place. There is a thick rubber seal between it and the shower holder. With this arrangement, there is little chance of the pin falling out. It is covered with a rubber washer and the shower arm sits directly on the spring pin covered with the washer. It doesn't actually need thread sealing tape, but it was already on my shower bracket so I didn't remove it. No tools were required to connect it to the shower head. I used a wrench on the shower head and valve to connect them. A gentle trickle reminds you to turn off the main shower valve at the end of your shower. With lower water supply pressure you may not have a trickle, my water supply pressure is 100psi so there is a trickle. The water flow can be adjusted from a small trickle to a full flow. The pressure in my water lines is 100psi so I get plenty of flow through the valve and I have removed the water flow restrictions from the showerhead. I take a sea shower, get wet, turn off the water, lather, pour water and rinse. With this valve you can do this without readjusting the temperature on the post shower valve. This is a much better design than the two cheaper valves that Danco makes. Revain's price is a bit lower than other places. I recommend this valve to anyone with a main shower valve that doesn't allow for flow control.
