I took these right out of my bag and used them on hard metal that I couldn't thread with a traditional tap and die set. It worked great on the first try. I only took off the star because the bits were loose in the case when they arrived and since the metric and standard bits are almost identical in some sizes I have no idea which bit is which. However, it's okay.
