I can only talk about how this compares to a wall mount as this is my first ceiling mount. First impressions: It was heavy but lighter and a lot easier than I expected which is good. I have used a few wall mounts over the years, they are much heavier and more difficult to mount. I like that it's easy enough and I can install it myself because I really don't want to pay anyone to install it. This ceiling mount outperforms the wall mount in terms of the flexibility it gives you. Due to their construction, wall brackets cannot pan and tilt more than 180 degrees. I see my TV from different places in my apartment, so it works almost every direction! Haven't used it for a long time so I don't know how strong and stable it is, it looks like it's made of a hard material. Material which is important to me because we pay so much for our TVs obviously we need something strong enough to support their weight and protect both my TV and the ceiling so we'll see how it does in the long run looks. run!
