I installed everything correctly, double checked every connection, tried every port and everything, but the tray works. The paperclip method opens the tray, but it doesn't close by itself or when a button is pressed. The drive shows up under Devices/This PC and lights up so I know it has power. Customer service has been contacted, we will update the review throughout the process. Update: I ended up having to send the disc back and the seller lets you pay the shipping and then ships it back to you along with the return of the product, shipping was about half the cost. drive, which is a shame.
