While I'm sure it's also used to apply construction adhesive, I've used it to seal aluminum window film where it meets brickwork. I will say that this works exactly as intended. Complaints about not being able to stop sealant/adhesive from dripping are more likely to have to do with the temperature and consistency of the material you're applying. With these two factors, the tool cannot compensate for an infinite number of variables. I really like the cruise control feature, it works well. There's a secondary speed dial when you pull the trigger, but I don't find that very useful. I wrapped and sealed 7 large windows the other day (required one or more tubes of limestone per window) and the 3Ah battery still read 3 bars unless you use it to apply glue to floor joists before you lay the subfloor. it will take quite a long time. So far only with one battery. Where DeWalt missed the mark with this tool is that it wasn't easy to get accessories without having to sift through other tool's parts manuals. They should allow a transition to larger hoses of glue and a Y-bracket at the end of the feeder that allows it to stay centered when applying glue to the floor joists. Also, it's expensive at $200. You have to really want it or apply a lot of caulk/glue to justify the cost.
