Don't get me wrong, this item works great, but a pump that claims to work on a 15 gallon tank is just plain stupid. I can't imagine being able to handle a pipe, hose and bucket while sucking on a tiny 15 gallon tank. I used this on my 30 gallon tank that sits on a stand and the hose was still too long. I ended up trimming the length by about a foot and that seems to have made it more manageable. I can cut another six inches, but I'll try a few more water changes to make sure I don't cut too much. I used a medium sized homemade bucket and I would really recommend getting a larger bucket like you see in the hospitality industry, the big white ones. I think the clip will work better with this than a regular bucket, I couldn't get it to snap so I just took it off. All in all, the product does what it is supposed to. The suction pump was great, a few pumps and that's it, the powerful suction lifts gravel easily and separates it from debris at the bottom of the tank. I would recommend this pump for 30-55 gallon over smaller 15 and under tanks, but that might just be personal preference.
