Gets a star for having blank paper inside, that's about it

I never leave Best Buy reviews, but this one frustrated me so much that I'm not only leaving a review, I'm attaching photos. I ordered a three-pack of these small hardbound sketch books. One for my desk, for my bag, for my nightstand. I got a two-pack of a larger size of the same brand. The sticker labels were a triangle in the lower right corner of the cover, pretty standard. The larger books, the labels came off fine. The smaller books, not so much. The label did not remove freely. And if it did, it was pulling pieces of the cover off with it. I'm thinking the glue was either really old or really low quality, forcing it to "become one" with the cover material. Which, by the way, is cheap in look and feel. It's a THIN piece of textured faux leather wrapped around a piece of cardboard. This is part of the reason the sticker label was able to damage it at all. It now has air bubble pockets. I have a large 8x10 sketchbook of a different brand, identical looking cover. I've had it for years. Wanted more books just like it. These are not them. They are cheap cheap cheap. The paper inside is pretty thin and the covers are straight ruined. Which is too bad, because the idea behind getting a hardbound sketchbook is to have something you'll keep forever with a collection of your favorite sketches. I have a feeling this will not hold up to even a few months of being tossed in my bag for a hike. Eventually I'll have a book full of sketches and a cover that is literally falling off. If you're serious about wanting a good hardbound sketchbook, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • The perfect size for quick sketches, doodles, or taking notes
Cons
  • Pages may not have enough tooth for creating texture
