It's not clear why homebuilders are saving a few pennies on the cost of a new home by omitting wired doorbells, but they are. And most of the available wireless doorbells are very cheaply made and, as the online reviews prove, either don't work at all or stop working quickly. I tried a couple of them, and they were as bad as the reviewers said. This one got favorable reviews and, at least so far, lives up to them. Installation couldn't be easier, choosing a ring tone from the 52 options (some lovely, some really funny barnyard animal sounds) is simple and, at least so far, after a month, it works as it should. Fingers crossed for the long term .
