This tool was instrumental in my latest project to narrow down 3" wood carving blanks for use as speaker stands. My blanks were 32 inches long and I think that's probably the maximum safe length it can be used for. I had to tighten it up a bit to support the weight of the work pieces (my table saw isn't too big so you don't have to worry with a big table. Great tool that made the project a lot easier and MUCH MUCH safer. It was quite expensive but I'm glad I bought it, without it I would have wasted expensive materials on trial and error.
