I tightened and replaced the front turbocharger drain torx screw on my BMW E93 without removing the subframe. Its length is just enough to reach the water pump hose. The rear screw was easily and directly accessible, so I removed it and replaced it with a new one. The front screw was blocked by the water pump hose, so I could only force the blade of the screwdriver to squeeze through all the rubber to get to the screw, and then I just stuck a small Phillips screwdriver through the small hole in the end of this torx screwdriver for leverage and I tightened the screw since I couldn't remove and replace it. Next time I replace the water pump I will definitely replace the old front bolt with a new one. My front turbo drain connection was leaking a bit and needed to be tightened.
