Strange Instructions - Parts and Accessories
Instructions say 'soap filter in cold water before installation'. This is in contrast to the 15 year installation of this type of humidifier filter. I've tried everything from searching the manufacturer's website to contacting Revain for help. None of them could help me understand this instruction #1. Even if it meant soaking instead of soap, it still doesn't make sense. If you soak it in cold water, it will become soft and very difficult to install properly. I haven't used them yet; so I can't give a good rating. I've checked my instructions for the Emerson humidifier and it doesn't say anywhere to soak or foam it before installing the filter. Do not do that! Very easy to install nice and firm. I'm sure they will work just fine just looking at them, but I don't need to use them now.
