I was worried about the reviews stating this mat wasn't waterproof. So as soon as the mat arrived I laid it out on my kitchen floor and poured a cup of water on it, ensuring the water didn't flow off the mat at all. 30 minutes later I went back to check the result and was super pleased to see that the water not only still pooled on top of the mat but underneath was completely dry. No leakage. If water gets on the floor around the edges of the mat it will seep under which may make it seem like this mat isn't waterproof but it definitely is.I haven't had the mat long enough to speak to how difficult or easy it is to clean but the very textured surface (which is great for anti-slip) does look like it will trap dirt. Hopefully nothing a strong spray with the hose can't clean.Overall the mat looks and feels very well made and I love how big it is for my messy drinker. It's heavy and will not slide around. It's also super cute and the color is exactly as advertised.
