I mostly use the wider straw as I mostly use it for smoothies. I just bought a second set to leave at work when I have smoothies for lunch or other drinks. I didn't put them in the dishwasher. I'm not sure if they can be washed in the dishwasher. We don't have a lot of supplies that stack up, so we mostly do this by hand. They are very easy to clean. The included brush is very good for cleaning the entire straw and silicone nozzles. I don't like drinking from metal, I was very happy with the silicone nozzles. The silicone tips are easy to put on and take off but are not too heavy. For example a storage container in case I want to take it with me. Only minor gripe is that the zip on the container seems to be of lower quality so not sure if it will last. It doesn't bother me much.
