My first foray into infusing coffee after months of research. I chose this model because it can make both cold and hot coffee. I've made iced coffee a few times so far and have had hot coffee in it almost every morning since it arrived a few weeks ago. I'm still working on my pourover skill, but I like the clean coffee it makes and the sparkle it gives. This works very well for iced coffee. The dripper has an extra layer to spread the coffee on the ice in the form of raindrops, so the ice melts evenly in the coffee. The ratio accounts for ice for ideal strength and temperature. Coffee is definitely lighter than cold brew and doesn't need milk. I still like a bit of sweetener in it. This is a good alternative to the Aeropress when you need an iced coffee quickly. The carafe is good if you share it with a friend. And it doesn't require the long-term planning skills that cold brewing requires. (By the way, Hario's Cold Brew Carafe is also highly recommended.) My next purchase will be a matching v60 Dripper, which I can use directly on my hot coffee mug. I know I don't really need it since this one works. But. e. I want it.
