Perfectly sunk by a 2x4 (wide way) with a hammer drill, no chipping and very durable!
I wanted to mount a 2x4 to my wall stud with a 15/16 inch hole to hold a pipe as a wood holder. They are pierced without pre-drilling or splitting and hold very firmly. A little pricey but super comfortable.
