There was a time when i3s were good but I couldn't even play CoD on the lowest settings. I used a 1660 Super ($300 video card) so I know it wasn't a card. I had maybe 25 fps and constant freezing. Completely unacceptable for any i-series processor. I'm very, very unimpressed. In fact, I'm blown away that this processor can hit 100% load so easily. For games, this processor is completely unsuitable for modern games. As for general use? This is good if you only want to do one task at a time. There is very little workload memory on this processor. Even my programs would crash if I had two or more open at the same time. I know people test this CPU with solid state and lots of RAM so there are no bottlenecks, but that's not the price point of this CPU. Most buy an HDD or SSHD with 8GB of RAM. And for such a build, this processor is slow enough to freeze every time it processes files from the hard drive. My gear isn't bad either; I'm using a 2TB Firecuda with lots of free space and good SATA cables. So I'm not sure what Intel is doing with this processor, but you're clearly better off spending 99 on 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen. 3. Terribly terrible processor. I've seen Pentium processors perform better. Maybe even Celron's.
