Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP - Enhanced Bicycle Trunk Bag with Sturdy Molded Panels by Scott Ward

Fantastic bag but doesn't fit ladies bike frames

I am very disappointed that after spending so much effort and money to get a new pannier rack for my bike I decided to use this bag as a trunk can use, am very disappointed * ONLY * fits on my bike. When I adjusted the trunk to the angle specified in the instructions, the trunk bag wouldn't snap into place because my seat was in the way. This is the case on a Specialized hybrid with the seat post almost fully extended. I ended up having to loosen one of the screws holding each rack post to the rack to slide it out as far as possible, and I could barely pull it out far enough for the bag to snap into place. But now everything is fine. against the seat, so most of the time I'm sitting in it and I'm constantly being pushed forward while driving. This morning it really came loose from the trunk due to the totally inevitable pressure of my ass on the bag. I am very disappointed that this company went to the trouble of making a special version of their bike rack with disc brakes, but would have completely overlooked the inability of their product to adequately fit a bike frame designed for literally half the population. Now I need to buy some longer racks to see if it's POSSIBLE I can use them to strap my trunk bag on without getting in the way of the saddle. The bag itself is fantastic. It's clearly well made, well thought out (apart from the fact that it runs on a women's frame) and big enough to hold everything I need to take to work.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not the best
