This worked well, the problem was that my lampshade is small so the large gap between the knob and the lamp clip in this design makes the whole thing sit too high. I have other small canopies with the same clamping concept built in that do a good job and don't have this gap, so I'm guessing this one is only for larger canopies that need a bit more height. Oh, and it's very tight, be careful. with flask. I use LEDs so the plastic bulb doesn't bother me, but glass bulbs would bother me that they would break. Do not use with compact fluorescent (filament) lamps that do not have a conventional lamp housing.
