I've made several of these hardwood knives in the past and they work great. However, making one of them takes a bit, and even if you make them out of hardwood, they tend to change shape a bit with time, temperature, and humidity. This is aluminum and should last a lifetime. Two changes I could make are not critical though. First I would put in slightly larger set screws to hold the blades being sharpened and add another set screw on each side (4 instead of 3) to more precisely hold the blades in the jig. I've had blades that warp slightly but straighten out when secured in the cutter head. An additional set screw positions the blade similar to the installed position. Just a thought.
