Arrived in good condition, well packed in case. So far they seem to be doing well for their purposes and as durable as any of the others. And actually stronger than some. The time will show. I was surprised to see that each tool that comes with it has a completely different locking mechanism. Everything is easy. However, I'm NOT A FAN of the thumb lock on the big yellow clippers - EVER. Flipping it upside down locks it again every time for all 3 of us who used it. And it slides into the locking position too easily for my liking. Even holding it in a "vertical" position, my dad would accidentally jam it almost every time he tried to cut. Although I'm generally not a fan of these pruning shears. But it is competent. Maybe it also grows in my garden and with "light" pruning regular care of fruit trees and the like, for which it was actually designed. It may take some time to get used to. Despite its cool looks, don't expect it to cut through pulp/hardwood 3/4" to 1/4" in diameter. slightly thicker if it is soft wood. Sharpness is (so far) ok. The cutting limit appears to be blade angle, neck/hinge position, and so on. Gives more power to cut very thin branches. But on something thicker it just doesn't compromise - a hard hit. Frustrating as we regularly have to use our secateurs on hard material and "just slightly larger" branches, to trim bushes/undergrowth for our small shredder, to clean up less well maintained areas and so on. Loppers are uncomfortable for many of them. (Yet) not regretted. This whole set will definitely be used quite extensively but take this as advice I'll have to disassemble and buy. The other pair, intended for "heavier conditions," are slightly thicker woods. I really miss my last favorite pair of scissors which got lost. The bypass pruning shears in this set performed better on the tassel prep workout, but they really are designed for "lighter work". I didn't get to try them because they're already popular with my husband, who has taken them out of the other two several times (which means they're lost once I love them too. Our set includes the bonus of rubberized work gloves. On there are huge plastic mole claws attached to the fingers of my right hand I laughed out loud it looks like part of a monster costume you can see the potential use - maybe - if the claws were shorter but they are sooo LONG!
