dust. Also, I have cats and dogs in my house so I figured it would be useful in general. After a thorough study of air purifiers, I chose Blueair and I am very satisfied! I love the auto function and just leave mine on auto all the time - quite interesting to see which causes it to switch to medium/high (as it does every time I use my gas stove - something, by which I hadn't noticed before that it hurts my air quality). I was impressed with its sensor as it turns on at high speed every time the construction crew is sanding/working with drywall/insulation etc so I think it does a good monitoring job. It's quiet, I don't really notice it regularly, it's a bit big but it looks pretty good so not a big deal in the main living areas. I like the color filter settings, both filters show a lot of dust accumulation, so it's definitely picking up something. And in general I am very happy with them! A note on odor control - the amount of activated carbon in activated carbon filters really isn't enough to do anything about odors. I don't see it as an intention to have an air purifier, so that's fine. But don't expect everything to smell better. Cooking smells etc. still hangs - I didn't notice the difference in that.
