This is a U-style Kenmore bag replacement Some reviewers took points off for not understanding the naming system and the fact that different bags are suitable for the same application. The U and O bags are interchangeable so to say one fits is correct, but to say one is the same as you have now is not. This is a paper bag that can be used in Kenmore handheld vacuums, but is NOT a Hepa quality cloth bag. To get these you need a Kenmore O Bag, also known as the 5069 or 50690. They also cost more, maybe a lot more. Seriously folks, you get what you pay for. Don't they teach that in kindergarten anymore? They should. Those who have complained about odors or dust coming out of the vacuum cleaner have more serious problems and need their device serviced. Most Kenmore units have a cabin filter as well as a Hepa class exhaust filter. These smells are most likely caused by neglected engine overheating. However, the pouch may cause the indicator light to come on too soon. Some vacuums are calibrated for cloth bags and a paper bag will pull the motor a little harder. I don't think it will hurt, but I'm not an expert on this.
