Review on πŸ”— HUSKY TOWING 31260 Chain-Lift Bracket Kit, Pair by Luis Adu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Strong and sturdy in parts

Yesterday (8/2/21) I received my HUSKY TOWING 31260 chain lift kit for my 27ft camper trailer. The two lift arms are solid and work well with the leveling bars and chains I already had. They are simply placed on top of the trailer tongue, then a half inch screw (supplied with each bracket) is screwed in to secure them to the tongue frame itself. My trailer frame rails are two inches wide and the half inch bolt is four inches long. Too long. I removed the 4" bolt and replaced it with a 1-3/4" half-inch bolt, which was more than enough. You could probably even use a 1-1/2" bolt if your frame is two" wide or more. It would probably be a good idea to use zinc plated bolts (reduces risk of on site corrosion) as they are constantly exposed to the elements. The brackets themselves are painted/powder coated. I'm not sure. They also come with two clips (one for each bracket) to hold the chain hook in place when actively using the balance bars and towing a trailer. Clamps can be stored (in the mount) in the same way when the mount is NOT in active use. Clamps can be used on either side (front or back) of each mount should the mount need to be placed too close to the battery/propane tank mounts. Don't forget to buy a lift rod/tube for these mounts as they are not supplied. They seem to be more than adequate for my purposes and could easily be removed if I ever sell my camper trailer. For $44 a pair, I'm happy!
