For the price it looked like a decent ball head and especially when it was the advertised weight - it wasn't. I wanted to create the perfect travel tripod that suits my interests. The tripod I chose had a ball head that accounted for almost a third of the tripod's weight. This one was lighter and looked like a superior design. It's lighter but has a few design flaws. The clip includes a spirit level that closes completely when you have a camera installed. Most of the best ball heads have this feature, but design it so that the spirit level is visible when the camera is installed, so it's really useful. The second downside is that the clip on it is about the smallest I've seen, meaning the plate that attaches to the camera or lens doesn't cost much. I find this very odd given the weight support claims they make. If I used it with one of my DSLRs I would return it. I will only use it with a much lighter bridge camera. I have a lot of small ball heads and the only ones that have a smaller clamping surface are for GoPros and other very light cameras. I tried removing the collar to replace it with a more comfortable one, but to no avail. However, it has been glued/chemically welded etc. does not exceed. All this to say that it will perform well - better than most cheap ones - and only time will tell its longevity.
